When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
It is a complete BLAST to do all of these ‘part 2’ weddings and vow renewals this year. What 2020 stole from us, we are all getting back 60 fold! 🙂
There is always a silver lining. Kaitlyn and Brian’s Southpointe Golf Club vow renewal is actually a gold lining! Congrats you two, many happy returns!
What was your inspiration behind your Southpointe Golf Club Vow Renewal? We wanted something classic & timeless with a ton of natural light!
Advice to share with brides planning now? Don’t get too bogged down in the details! You are joining your life to your best friend, and the day will be beautiful no matter what!
How did you and your spouse meet? We met on the first day of work at orientation in June 2015. Just having come out of another relationship, Kaitlyn was channeling her inner Olivia Pope (IYKYK) and was ready to focus on her career. Brian had just moved to Pittsburgh from Cincinnati (go Bearcats!) and was trying to get settled. Kaitlyn sat behind Brian during their orientation and asked him to lunch that day. They ended up getting lunch, happy hour drinks, dinner, and repeated the same the following day. The rest is history 🙂
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂 Brian proposed on June 1, 2019, which was Kaitlyn’s parent’s 34th wedding anniversary. He proposed at the Point where they had their first “real” date July 2015. For months, Brian had planned that their friends Brittany & Sean from Cincinnati were to visit that weekend. These friends even texted us Saturday morning letting us know they were en route to Pittsburgh and where they intended to park when they arrived. Kaitlyn would find out later in the day that those friends were never actually on their way and were just one piece of the proposal puzzle. Without having any tip-offs or evidence, Kaitlyn had a feeling Brian would propose and, regrettably, jokingly texted Brian her thoughts. Not her best move. Kaitlyn’s best friend, Lenny, was quick to confirm there was no possible way as she was nowhere near Pittsburgh and Brian could never propose without her there. Brian picked Kaitlyn up for an early dinner with their friends who were on their way to town. Unsuspecting, Kaitlyn agreed to go on a walk at the Point prior to dinner. Brian picked up a gift of Nicholas Coffee for his visiting friends and brought the bag on the walk which seemed unusual at the time. Little did Kaitlyn know, the ring was hidden inside the bag of coffee. Brian proposed on the River Walk as Lenny and a few other friends hid in the surrounding landscaping. The two celebrated with friends and family and dreamt of the day they would make their union official!
What was your favorite memory from your Southpointe Golf Club Vow Renewal? While COVID interrupted our original plans for July 25, 2020, we were fortunate to have TWO weddings and countless memories. Our favorite memory from our intimate ceremony July 2020 was seeing each other for the first time as Kaitlyn walked down the aisle. We still tear up thinking about it.It’s hard to choose a favorite moment from our vow renewal and reception on our 1 year anniversary. Kaitlyn’s favorite moment was looking out and seeing all of our loved ones after many months of planning and uncertainty. Brian’s favorite moment was their choreographed first dance which was truly a feat for someone with two left feet!
