When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
There are very few Pittsburgh wedding venues quite like Longue Vue. The architecture alone makes it 100% one of my top 10 favorite places to work in the city. It’s perfect for ceremonies and weddings, automatically making it easier for the bride and groom AND their guests. A Summertime Longue Vue Wedding is exceptionally hard to beat.
In this post, you see Haley and Joe host the worlds most perfect summertime Lounge Vue Club wedding reception after their 2020 vow ceremony. While their first celebration was intimate and small, this second go around is the total opposite! This perfectly showcases how a Lounge Vue wedding is versatile and perfect for every occasion.
Congrats you two on a PERFECT start to forever!
What was your inspiration behind your Summertime Longue Vue Wedding day?
We had a few requirements: warm weather, an outdoor ceremony with lots of greenery, timeless design, and convenience for our guests to explore the wonderful city of Pittsburgh. The beautiful Longue Vue Club certainly did the trick. But as a couple planning (and re-planning) through the pandemic, the important of the details faded away a bit and the ability to finally celebrate with our family and friends became the priority. We had a small intimate ceremony at Longue Vue in 2020 and were able to renew our vows in the same exact location one year later surrounded by lots of people and lots of love.
Advice to share with brides planning now?
It’s hard to make decisions and stick to them because there is always something more elaborate or more trendy that pops up on Instagram the next day. So my advice would be to have confidence in your decisions and remember the real reason you’re planning a wedding! At the end of the day it’s about you and your person, which will always be more important than which vendor you chose or the DIY project you’re stressing about.
How did you and your spouse meet?
Joe and I met at THE Ohio State University in 2011. We had been next door neighbors for two years but didn’t actually connect until my senior year and Joe had graduated but was still living in Columbus. When we met we knew I was moving to NYC after graduation and Joe was moving to Arizona for graduate school. We managed to tough it out over the course of 4 years across the country before we both relocated to Boston in 2016.
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
Joe proposed to me in Brooklyn Bridge Park because he knows Brooklyn holds a very special place in my heart. He was so nervous that he could barely say anything and finally told me all the things he wanted to say later that night in our living room!
What was your favorite memory from your big day?
To be able to honor our original wedding day by renewing our vows in the presence of our family and friends was definitely the highlight. The dance floor was a close second!
