When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
It seems to be a theme, re-planning a wedding in light of a global pandemic! While this couple originally had their hearts set on a glamorous and chic city venue, they realize that what matters more than anything is that they get to be married! So plan B it is, and you know what? It was even better than they every could hope! Congrats Savannah and Bobby!
What was your inspiration behind your fairytale themed ballroom wedding day?
Bobby and I (mostly Bobby) have a huge love for all things Disney and wanted to incorporate a tiny-but-not-over-the-top Disney theme to our day. Our proposal was Disney related, so a friend of ours made us an amazing guest book that went off of Bobby’s proposal. From there, we decided to incorporate it also into our cake topper, “Happily Ever Hillard” our card box and our table numbers, which were all based off of different Disney attractions.
Advice to share with brides planning now?
After being a “Covid couple” I would only recommend have the day the way you want and have dreamed of. Bobby and myself always wanted a huge bash with a band and nonstop dancing and cookies, so we didn’t hesitate to postpone our original date of July 4th 2020 when Covid hit last year. We didn’t want to be forced into a wedding with ten people and masks, and I’m so glad we waited until restrictions were lifted and we had the day we always dreamed of. We ended up switching venues less than two months before our wedding because our previous venue wouldn’t budge on restrictions, and the extra work of changing last minute was so worth it because our day was absolutely perfect.
How did you and your spouse meet?
I swore I would never do online dating, but my cousin downloaded Tinder on my phone. When I mindlessly was swiping one day I came upon Bobby. His profile stated “I like to sing in the car.” One of my favorite hobbies is making music videos in the car, so I messaged this to him. A month later, I decided to delete Tinder and it was on that day I decided to remove it from my phone that Bobby messaged me back. He said, “We’ll have to make one sometime.”
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
In relation to our first words to each other, Bobby would never make a music video with me in the car. A couple of years ago he got a Tesla and one day they had an update that featured “Caraoke”. I told him he had no excuse and had to make a video with me now. They had a bunch of Disney songs so one day we put on “Love Is An Open Door” from Frozen. He proposed right along with the song when Hans proposes to Anna. In a moving car. In retaliation, I wanted to make my own proposal with a watch I got Bobby as a wedding gift. The day before the wedding, I put on “Some Things Never Change” from Frozen 2 and presented the watch to him when Sven says “Maybe you should leave all the romantic stuff to me.”
What was your favorite memory from fairytale themed ballroom wedding day?
The entire day was such a blur! We loved hitting the dance floor with our friends and family. We wanted a huge party, and a party it was.
