When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
ONE of the MANY things I love about my job is the couples I get to meet and work with. They become like family and I always walk away feeling like I made new friends. Erica and Patrick are no exception to this feeling. We clicked at their engagement session and the rest is history! Their Classic University Club Wedding totally showcases their personalities and love.
What was your favorite memory from your big day?
I woke up really early and had about an hour to myself to drink my coffee, reflect in peace and quiet, and look forward to the day ahead. Also, walking down the aisle to Patrick knowing that I was making the best decision of my life.
What was your inspiration behind your wedding day?
I’ve always loved the photograph of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette’s wedding day, because it was over 20 years ago but it looks like it could have been taken last week! I wanted the same vibe for my Classic University Club Wedding day – timeless, classic, and chic.
Advice to share with brides planning now?
Try to enjoy every second of the day – it goes by quickly!
How did you and your spouse meet?
We met through a mutual friend when I was a senior at Pitt and Patrick had just moved to Pittsburgh for his first job. Patrick claims we met in June – I claim we didn’t meet until October … I’m obviously right 🙂
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
Patrick and I went on our first date on what just happened to be his parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. Ironically, he proposed to me on what just happened to MY parents’ 35th wedding anniversary – totally unbeknownst to him! This detail made this Classic University Club Wedding day all the more special to me.
The thing that Patrick and I have most in common is how much we love our families. Both of us are very family oriented and our siblings are especially important to us, so Patrick wanted to make sure my parents and my three sisters (who are my best friends) were present for his proposal. My parents were having a cookout at their house (my childhood home) on Memorial Day, and he surprised there – after telling me for several days that he couldn’t make it! – and proposed to me in front of my family (who were all in on it, but I had no idea! I was shocked!) My mom had champagne and cake ready to go and we celebrated all day. It was a perfect day.
