Springtime Pennsylvanian Wedding
Ben and Nicole are Pittsburgh lovers who planned the world’s best Springtime Pennsylvanian Wedding! Like so many other couples, they found themselves postponing their original wedding plans when Covid-19 hit. Come April 30, 2022, they were READY to do the dang thang! This date is very sentimental to my — it is also my anniversary with my wife Jaime! We celebrate 13 years of marriage this coming year and I am so excited. 🙂
Let us back up to how Nicole and Ben found me! Several years ago, Nicole’s older sister booked me for her wedding. She also got married and had her reception at the Pennsylvanian! The family and I really bonded so when Nicole got engaged, I was one of the very first vendors she booked. Then when Covid changed their first date, she based her new date on me too! It is so flattering that my clients feel this strongly about me as their photographer.
The bridal party all wore sleek, black tie gowns and tuxes, adding to the formal grandeur of the wedding day. One area in particular that I excel is posing groups, especially large bridal parties! Nicole and Ben had 14 people in their bridal party, plus flower girls. Oftentimes, photographers can rush through bridal party photos and not take the time to pose everyone creatively. There is a HUGE difference between a bridal party photo where everyone looks the same, and where everyone looks different. This is why I always recommend building at least an hour into your wedding timeline for bridal party and couple portraits. It is never ideal to be rushed, but even when I am, I still produce something amazing.

Steven was my sister’s wedding photographer in 2018 and I knew that I wanted him as a photographer at my wedding once my time came around. He was one of the first vendors I contacted when I got engaged because I HAD to have him capture this special day!
Steven is an incredible, creative, and passionate photographer. He has a true talent. He knows how to get the perfect lighting and angle to make anything look good!!! While we were getting ready, the bridal suite was a mess and the bridesmaids were running around trying to get ready. During this time, he managed to capture amazing photos in this room with so much chaos. All he needed was a subject and a window! (see photo below)
Also, he makes it a priority to build rapport and establish a comfortable relationship. He truly listens to aspects of your wedding you want him to capture and makes it all come true in a natural way. It so nice to work with a photographer that you not only appreciate their art, but you appreciate and respect them as a person. I will definitely be using Steven Dray Photography again in the future to capture special life moments.
