When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
Two high school sweethearts decide to host a celebration of their love in Pittsburgh. What do they do? Host a wedding at Longue Vue Club in Verona. Emily and John waited a LONG TIME to get married — this is always the case when a couple meets as teenagers. Their day is stunning and perfect and showcases that long loves can be lifetime loves. Honestly, it’s very hard to take a bad photo of Emily and John, as they are exceptionally photogenic. That combined with the perfection of the Longue Vue Club buildings and grounds is the perfect combination for any wedding! And as if it couldn’t get any better, the sun shines bright in all their photos. The stuff dreams are made of.
Congrats you two! Be sure to read more about their relationship and big day below. <3
What was your inspiration behind your Wedding at Longue Vue Club?
We were going for a classic romantic look, incorporating the vintage feeling of our venue while adding some modern twists. Our family and friends are so important to us, so we tried to keep them in thought while planning our day. We also wanted the music to blow everyone away, and I’m happy to say that I believe we succeeded! At the end of the day, we wanted a classically beautiful wedding surrounded by the people we love!
Advice to share with brides planning now?
My advice would be to not sweat the small stuff. It’s hard to see the bigger picture when focusing on minute details of the day. Honestly, these things had a way of just working out! Put your trust in the people working to make your day perfect! The day ended up being better than I could’ve ever imagined!
How did you and your spouse meet?
We are high school sweethearts. We’d been dating over 11 years when we got married.
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
John and his family took us on a trip to Nemacolin Resort over Labor Day weekend in September of 2019. John told me we were going “for a hike.” About 5 minutes into this “hike,” he asked me to take a seat on a bench in the garden. We hadn’t even made it off of the resort yet. I was so confused. Why were we going to sit down? It’s supposed to be a hike? I took my cross-body purse off and after turning back around, he had the ring box in his hands. I cried so hard, I didn’t say yes or even see the ring for about a minute. Later, he surprised me by asking my parents to join us for dinner. It was the best day!
What was your favorite memory from your Wedding at Longue Vue Club?
There are honestly so many that it’s hard to pick. If I had to choose just one, it would be our first dance. I recorded myself singing our first dance song as a surprise for John. It was a song I had learned on piano years ago and sang for him for our 3rd anniversary back in high school. We both got a good laugh out of him becoming emotional when he realized it was me. As if that wasn’t enough, I saw my dad, mom, and brother huddled in a hug together watching us dance. All with tears in their eyes. My family is so special to me. Seeing my family, John’s family, and all of our friends watching over us in that moment is a feeling I will never forget.
