Surprise Home Wedding
Imagine thinking you’re about to attend a holiday party only to find out you’re at a Surprise Home Wedding! Andy and Alexis pulled it off! All their guests arrived, only to find out that a wedding was about to take place. This was the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion with those the bride and groom love. I am always honored to be part of days like this!
What helped you make the decision to hold a more intimate celebration?
We both knew we always wanted something smaller and more intimate, Something that we could just enjoy planning stress-free and plan together. We are both very family oriented, so it seemed like the perfect way to have our wedding. It was such a fun process doing everything together especially around the Holidays because we both love Christmas!
Advice to share with brides planning now?
Just enjoy the process! It should be fun and stress-free, enjoy every decision and every moment. While it may feel so far away, it goes very fast!
How did you and your spouse meet?
We actually met online, like most couples these days! 🙂
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
We were going on a family trip to Ireland. Andy loves the airport, so when we got to the airport he took us to gate A2 (both of our names start with A) and he gave everyone a letter, Everyone else’s letters spelled out “will you marry me?” and my letter had very sentimental writing in it. When I looked up he was down on one knee, it was an amazing moment! I was so shocked, and we laugh now because I never stopped to take my backpack off so in all of the pictures and videos I am jumping around with my backpack on. The ring is very special as well because the diamond in it has been in his family for generations, so I feel very honored to wear it!
What was your favorite memory from your big day?
Just the magical feeling as corny as that sounds. We both love Christmas so much so just being surrounded by our closest friends and family under the Christmas lights and trees was just very special. My favorite moment was doing our first dance as husband and wife, it was a song we both love and had chosen very early on in our relationship so it was very special to just be in the moment together for that.
