When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
There’s something about a Summer Soldiers & Sailors Wedding that never fails to take my breath away. Maybe it’s the way the evening light spills across the limestone steps, or how the grand hall seems to hum with anticipation before the reception begins. As a Pittsburgh wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless celebrations at this iconic venue — and I can honestly say that Soldiers & Sailors in the summertime is pure magic.
When I photograph a Summer Soldiers & Sailors Wedding, I’m not just documenting an event — I’m telling a story. The marble staircases, the soft glow of sunset behind the dome, the laughter echoing across the terrace — every detail adds a layer to the narrative. This venue gives couples the perfect mix of elegance, history, and city energy. And in summer, the light is simply unbeatable. The golden hour here is something I wish every couple could experience.
The beauty of a summer celebration at Soldiers & Sailors is that it offers so much versatility. Guests can mingle on the front terrace overlooking Oakland, while you and your partner sneak away for portraits in front of the grand façade. Inside, the ballroom is timeless — with soaring ceilings and classic architecture that pairs perfectly with any wedding style. I love using a mix of natural and creative lighting to give the space that romantic, editorial glow.
Another thing that makes a Summer Soldiers & Sailors Wedding so special is how close it is to some of Pittsburgh’s most iconic photo spots. The Cathedral of Learning, Mellon Institute, and Schenley Park are all just minutes away. This means I can deliver a gallery filled with variety — grand architecture, soft greenery, and intimate moments — all without wasting time traveling across the city.
While Soldiers & Sailors is one of my favorite venues, it’s not the easiest to photograph. The high ceilings, reflective marble, and changing light can be tricky if you’re not used to it. That’s where experience really matters. I’ve spent years perfecting my approach to this venue — learning exactly how to balance its natural light, utilize its architecture, and still keep the focus where it belongs: on you.
Your wedding photos should tell a complete, cohesive story — not just deliver a few “Instagram-worthy” moments. I take pride in creating galleries that feel rich and full from start to finish. The emotion of your vows, the look on your partner’s face during your first dance, the wild laughter on the dance floor — all of it deserves to be documented beautifully.
That’s why I love photographing a Summer Soldiers & Sailors Wedding — it offers so many moments to tell that story honestly and artfully.
When you look back at your images years from now, I want you to feel what it was like to be there. The warmth of the sun as you stepped onto the terrace. The music vibrating through the floor during your reception. The quiet joy between you and your loved ones in between all the excitement. My goal is to make sure every one of those feelings lives on in your photos.
If you’re drawn to a mix of timeless style and genuine emotion — and you’re planning a Summer Soldiers & Sailors Wedding — I’d be honored to be part of your day. My approach is relaxed, intentional, and tailored to your story.
Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and it deserves to be documented with care and artistry. Don’t settle for a highlight reel — let’s create a full, beautiful record of your story.
