What was your inspiration behind your Springtime Fairmont Wedding day?

We wanted a fun celebration that was classic but modern and that showed off the spirit and hospitality of Pittsburgh. 

Advice to share with brides planning now?

Hire a wedding planner! No matter how type A you think you are, they will be help ease the stress of wedding planning and wedding day. 

How did you and your spouse meet?

I (bride) failed chemistry in college and had to spend an extra year to finish my degree. I thought my life was over when all of my friends graduated but after a summer study abroad and meeting a new friend, I was introduced to Tyler at a house party. My life was just getting started. 

Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂

Tyler proposed in front of the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh campus where we met. I asked him the night before if he was proposing and he said no, it was “the first saturday of college football.” In protest I refused to wash my hair before we walked around campus with some other college friends. After he asked and I said yes we met up with friends and family to celebrate! I even forgot about my dirty hair! 

What was your favorite memory from your big day?

Our first look! It helped to take a lot of pressure off from the day and allowed us to have a beer or 2 before we walked down the aisle. Taking wedding party photos with Dray made it feel like we were just hanging out with friends (while all dressed up). Tyler’s Response: our vows! I loved that we said similar things to each other but in our own ways.
