When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
What was your inspiration behind your Spring Soldiers and Sailors Wedding?
My mom has a few ginger jars that she bought overseas when she was younger. She is very artistic, and I’ve always loved how she decorated our home growing up. These ginger jars were always my favorite focal point. The blue and white color palette quickly became an inspiration for our wedding day colors!
Advice to share with brides planning now?
Comparison is the thief of joy! In this day and age, it’s easy to compare yourself to everyone on social media. Remember what this big, special day is all about, and let that be your focus throughout the wedding planning process.
How did you and your spouse meet?
Joey and I grew up attending neighboring schools. I remember seeing him at a tennis camp when we were 12 years old and thinking he was cute. Little did I know that seven years later, we would end up back on a tennis court, playing with mutual friends after my freshman year of college. At that time, I was preparing to go on a family vacation to Montana, and Joey convinced me that I had to learn how to fish before I left—even though I had no intention of fishing on this trip! Our first date was on his grandparents’ farm, riding a mule around rolling hills and ending the day fishing in a pond. Joey quickly became my favorite person in the world.
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law with my parents in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My family and I were entering the Grand Tetons preparing to go on a scenic hike when I saw Joey from a distance in a field behind one of the most picturesque barns in the country. As confused as I was, my heart was doing cartwheels at a rate of 100mph. Little did I know that Joey had flown into Jackson Hole that morning to drop to one knee. I was speechless to say the least.
What was your favorite memory from your Spring Soldiers and Sailors Wedding?
There was something unforgettable about hearing Beethoven blaring on the pipe organ in Heinz Memorial Chapel as we exited as husband and wife—haha! There are seriously too many moments to choose from. Joey and I felt like the entire day was the most magical of our lives.
