Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Wedding: Brody & Anna
Is it me, or has anyone else noticed that it rains a lot in Pittsburgh? Thankfully it did NOT matter on Anna and Brody’s big day. I think the rain adds a bit of romance and intimacy that you don’t always find! This Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Wedding Celebration is so wonderful – all the special moments and details make it one of my favorite weddings to date!
Here’s more about the stars of the show: Brody and Anna
Anna and Brody met via Match.com in the spring of 2014. Anna was living in Fort Lee, NJ, and preparing for her move to Pittsburgh for her residency at UPMC Mercy Hospital. Brody was living in Pittsburgh, working from home for a consulting firm, and was looking to get back into the dating game.
After seeing Anna’s photos and online profile, Brody decided to break the ice and send her a message. The two hit it off, and after a few weeks, the online messages turned into nightly phone calls. Even when Anna made a trip home to Russia to visit her family, she and Brody found time to talk or text every day.
June 3rd, 2014. Six weeks into their online/over-the-phone relationship, Anna finally made the move to Pittsburgh. That night, Brody wasted no time and met Anna for their first official date. And as they say, the rest is history…
All about the Proposal
In October 2016, a few days before her birthday, Brody planned a day-long scavenger hunt for Anna. Throughout the day, Brody relied on friends to meet Anna at each stop to deliver clues. These friends didn’t even know about the proposal. They simply thought they were meeting Anna for a birthday adventure.
Stops during the day included Geppetto Café (Anna’s favorite breakfast spot), a relaxing massage at the couple’s favorite spa, and a frozen margarita at Mad Mex (who doesn’t love Mad Mex?!). Brody even had a new dress waiting for Anna when she made it home (the last stop before the proposal).
The final destination was the Hyeholde Restaurant, where Brody hired a photographer to take pictures of the proposal. Anna later admitted that when she arrived, she saw the photographer hiding in the bushes. But at this point, she essentially knew what was going on anyways. All the planning and organizing paid off. If you haven’t guessed it yet, she said yes!
