When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
Amanda and Eric’s Frick Mansion fall wedding was intimate and amazing! The Frick property is gorgeous, a large historic mansion, gorgeous gardens, an art museum and more. You will NOT need to leave this space for portraits, family formals or anything else. Because everything is in one place, your wedding will automatically have a relaxed and inspired vibe.
This couple first hired me for their engagement photos! Right away, we hit it off. Every single interaction was more enjoyable than the last. Amanda shares the most sweet review below:
Could not recommend Dray enough! His ability to capture special moments with such emotion and beauty is unmatched. We did our engagement photos with Dray and he photographed our Fall 2023 wedding. Every single interaction felt like talking to a friend. Dray (and his wonderful wife Jaime) were so kind and took great care in getting to know my husband and I, as well as what our needs were for both occasions. They were always open to answer any questions we had and I knew with their vast knowledge and experience in photographing weddings the guidance we got was solid. Dray’s calm demeanor and warm personality were so integral in building trust, that come wedding day my husband and I had no doubt that the photos he and Aaron captured would be momentos we cherished for years to come. Our preview images have only solidified these feelings!

What was your inspiration behind your Frick Mansion Fall Wedding?
Our inspiration was planning a wedding day that felt like a direct reflection of what Eric and I value personally – authentic connection through experience, meaningful time spent with those we love and enjoying a delicious meal! We opted for a small guest list that focused on including immediate family and our bridal party, which led to an intimate day spent with those we are closest with. When planning decor and design we focused on simple elegance, as we felt the beauty of The Frick grounds and facilities should be a main focal point. This focus on simple elegance, influenced the clean, neutral linens paired with colorful florals and warm accents as well as the decision to rent the Frick’s Car and Carriage Museum for our guests to enjoy during cocktail hour.
Advice to share with brides planning now?
Prioritize what matters most to you as a couple and do a lot of research to find vendors you trust! Budget influenced our overall decision-making so we knew what items we were comfortable doing ourselves and what pieces of the day we were willing to dedicate more of our budget towards. We also understood that many pieces of the event we could not do ourselves, so we focused on hiring vendors with skill and expertise to handle those. This is where our thorough research on vendors paid off. Every vendor we hired to support our wedding day was exceptional and we made it a point to trust their expertise and it paid off!
How did you and your spouse meet?
Eric and I met through mutual friends. We were familiar with one another as our friend groups overlapped because of these mutual friends, which helped set the stage for when Eric reached out via social media to introduce himself directly and ask me on a date!
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
Eric planned a lunch and visit to The Highline on the South Side for myself, my sister and my parents over 4th of July weekend 2022. After lunch we went up to the overlook area on the Highline to take in the view and get some group photos, where a photographer (aka Eric’s colleague) offered to take photos of Eric and me. That’s when Eric got down on one knee and popped the question! Little did I know that was the first of many surprises, as he also planned a surprise engagement party at a local Italian restaurant with friends from Pittsburgh and my hometown in attendance to celebrate the occasion!
What was your favorite memory from your big day?
Sharing a fantastic meal at one large table with the most important people in our lives and having our close friend officiate our ceremony.
