What was your inspiration behind your Elegant Oakmont Club Wedding?
Originally we thought of having a destination wedding in South Carolina so we had always imagined a very coastal vibe as well as an elevated yet traditional feel for the day. Sara spent a lot of time on Hilton Head Island growing up which is where we drew some of our inspiration. Maggie, Francesca, and the whole Bumble Burgh Team really brought this all to life with their creative eyes and attention to detail throughout our entire planning process. I remember Frank showing us her ‘design presentation’ for the first time and it was amazing…she absolutely encapsulated exactly what we had been discussing through our conversations. It was so fun to see it from concept to real life on the big day!
Advice to share with brides planning now?
I’m someone who loves to check things off a ‘to do’ list so I kept having to remind myself that wedding planning is a process and not everything can be done as soon as you would like. My best advice is to be patient – things can get stressful but it’s important to remember everything will work out even better than what you could have imagined!
How did you and your spouse meet?
Matt and I first met at a very young age through our older brothers who were in the same class in high school. We went on our first date in November of 2013 which ended with a failed kiss attempt by Matt. Years later after living in different cities, Matt and I moved back to Pittsburgh around similar timeframes and reconnected.
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
On April 9th, 2023, Matt proposed to me on Masters’ Sunday (and Easter Sunday) with my family watching in my grandparents’ backyard. The weather was so pretty that day so we went outside to take family pictures. As we were getting our photo taken, Matt got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
What was your favorite memory from your Elegant Oakmont Club Wedding?
My favorite memory was the affectionate toast Matt gave to me to kick off the reception. It was so thoughtful and something I will always remember. Matt’s favorite memory was seeing me as I walked down the aisle in St. Paul’s.
