When I'm not photographing or with my family, I get lost in pop- impressionism oil paintings. Check out some of my work here.
Oh, Happy Day! Katherine and Josh got married on a PERFECT day and hosted the best Pitt/Duquesne themed wedding you could imagine. They share ALL the special details below. Happiest of marriage wishes to you both! xoxo
What is your inspiration behind your classic Heinz Chapel wedding day?
We wanted our wedding day to encompass the things that make us special. We wanted to have a touch of the University of Pittsburgh (where Katie graduated from) and a touch of Duquesne University (where Josh graduated from. We also wanted to add touches of Disney as we are both huge Disney/Star Wars nerds.
Advice to share with brides planning now?
Things are challenging right now with the pandemic. Book as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on what you want for your dream wedding. Make sure you follow up about any new policies that might be in place and make sure you feel comfortable! Most of all, have fun!
How did you and your spouse meet?
We actually ended up meeting on a dating app in 2014 even though we were going to school so close together. We later learned we even had some mutual friends. Our first date was a trip to Dave and Andy’s for ice cream so we made sure to make a quick photo stop on our big day! See below.
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
Josh knew I would think that we would get engaged during a trip to Disney World, so he decided to surprise me earlier. He said we were meeting some friends for dinner (who were secretly taking photos of the big moment). We actually got engaged in South Side near the Cheesecake Factory. When we were in college, it would always be our go-to place for celebrations, so it was the perfect fit for this special moment.
What was your favorite memory from your classic Heinz Chapel wedding day?
Our favorite memory is seeing all our friends and family both filling up the pews at the chapel and on the dance floor at our reception. It had been so long since we were all able to get together with the COVID-19 pandemic. It was so great to see everyone together and having a good time. It made us feel so loved and special that everyone was there to celebrate us and our marriage. It meant the world to us that we were finally able to celebrate after postponing our wedding for a year. We dreamed of having all our friends and family there, and our dream was finally able to come true. It was worth the wait!
