What was your inspiration behind your Wedding at Heinz History Center?
FUN! Our goal was for our guests to walk out of our wedding saying, “that was the most fun wedding I’ve ever been to”. We wanted our wedding day to be reflective of us as a couple. We wanted to create a warm and welcoming environment in a casual, yet sophisticated atmosphere. Most importantly, we wanted a day that was filled with so much joy and love.
Advice to share with brides planning now?
It can be stressful at times and it probably sounds cliche, but enjoy every moment of the planning process! It truly goes by so quickly. Build a strong relationship with your vendors so day of, you can trust them completely and let them do what they do best so you can focus on YOUR day. And, don’t sweat the small stuff, if something goes wrong, chances are your guests will never know 🙂
How did you and your spouse meet?
We worked together at our first job, the Washington Wild Things, a minor league baseball team in Washington, PA.
Proposal Details! How did it happen? 🙂
We planned earlier in the week to go to dinner at the Lake Club, a country club that we belong to near our home in Ohio, on Saturday night. However, on Friday, he told me that he wanted to get to dinner early to play a few holes of golf ahead of time. He had done this before, so it wasn’t anything unusual or out of the ordinary. I just go along for the ride in the golf cart 🙂 At the second hole (after a few bad shots), as he was getting ready to putt the ball in the hole, he asked me to go to the hole and remove the flagstick. In the hole was a ring box! He proposed and our families jumped out from behind the bushes to surprise me! After a lot of celebrations and some pictures, we finally had our dinner all together 🙂
What was your favorite memory from your big day?
It’s hard to pick one favorite, but other than marrying my best friend, being surrounded and celebrating with all of our family and friends that traveled to Pittsburgh from near and far. Another favorite was our very good family friend, Steven, jumping on stage to join the Cleveland Keys for Bennie and the Jets 🙂
